Children of Faith
Children were important to Jesus and they're important to us too. This team coordinates Christian Education activities for children. This is an exciting and growing ministry with a lot of opportunity to get involved.
Primary Duties and responsibilities:
- review and order all curriculum for the Church School
- recruit and train teachers, nursery attendants, and youth group leaders
- identify Christian Education needs and work on ways to address them
- oversee the Confirmation Mentoring program, under the supervision of the pastor
- oversee the Youth Group
- promote and monitor our church’s participation in Vacation Bible School at Camp Brainerd
- oversee the collection and distribution of items for Care Packages for our college students and members in the military. Ordinarily, this would be a special mission project of the Church School classes
- coordinate collection of Brainerd Scholarship funds
- provide service and mission opportunities for children through visits to the Slate Belt Nursing and Rehab facility, collections for the Heifer Project, and other opportunities as they arise
- coordinate with the Pastor and other commissions as necessary, especially regarding fundraising activities
