One of the three "legs" of our new mission statement calls us to "extend hospitality to all." Jesus created space in his life where strangers could become friends and where persons estranged from God could be reconnected. We believe that we have been called to partner with God in his mission of love to the world. As a congregation, we are just beginning to live into this dream. To the left are a few of our initial steps.

WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT SERVICE

But whoever wishes to be great among you must be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you must be your slave; just as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many.’

(Matthew 20:26b-28)

On the last Saturday of each month, our congregation serves a meal to the community. We do so free of charge because we see this as our ministry to the Slate Belt. It is open to everyone. People who would like to help with set up, serving, or clean up are welcome. Any community groups who would like to be involved are invited as well. For more information, please visit our Events page or check out the Hands of Faith team.

greeters icon Greeters & Ushers

Just as we greet guests to our home, make them feel welcome, and tend to their needs, so do the greeters and ushers. This is primarily a ministry of hospitality as greeters and ushers are the first people visitors meet when they enter our doors. It is an opportunity to help strangers quickly become friends. And it enables all who enter our doors to feel welcome and comfortable as they gather each Sunday. If your are interested in serving in this capacity, please contact the church.

Because "God so loved the world," Jesus was sent to live among us and be the visible representation of that love. We believe all people need to experience the unconditional love of God through the ministry of the church. With that lofty goal in mind, this team develops community outreach programs and service opportunities for members and friends of the congregation...learn more.
