Shepherd Team
The apostle Paul referred to the church as the body of Christ. As the caring arm of the church, this team serves as Christ's hands and feet as we nurture family and friends in our congregation so that everyone can feel included, wanted, and comfortable.
Primary Duties and responsibilities:
- to meet (with the pastor) as a group every 3-4 months for mutual support and training
- to extend the hospitality of the congregation to every member and friend of Faith Church through personal contact (cards, phone calls, email, or visits) at least twice
yearly. The purpose of this contact is to:
a) keep abreast of member needs, celebrate joys, and promote goodwill
b) keep members informed about special events, ministries, or fellowship opportunities
- to maintain contact with members who miss 3 or more services or are ill
- wherever possible, to connect people with need to appropriate services/support/care
- to pray for each member in the assigned "flock"
- to collect and distribute items for "care packages" for those in college or serving in the military
- to proactively work to enable each member and friend of Faith Church to begin to see themselves as "ministers" in God's kingdom
