Worship
Prayer, time in communion with God, and formal teaching of the scriptures were key in ministry of Jesus. Understanding the importance of taking time out to praise God, this team provides for opportunities for meaningful worship while extending the hospitality of the congregation to guests and members alike.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- work with the Pastor to plan seasonal and special worship services
- recruit chancel aides, ushers, greeters, and communion stewards
- prepare the elements for communion and ensure that service vessels are cleaned and properly stored following worship
- oversee the decoration of the church for seasonal and special worship services
- coordinate the collection of money, ordering of flowers, delivery and set-up of flowers for Easter, Christmas, and Pentecost Sunday
- develop and coordinate a hospitality program to follow up with visitors
- develop and maintain a church brochure
- conduct seasonal food drives in concert with liturgical seasons
- create and oversee a Praise Team
- conduct occasional community, family, and wholeness & healing services
- arrange for supply preachers or special programs for Sundays when the Pastor is away on vacation or study leave
- coordinate with the Pastor and other commissions as necessary, especially regarding fundraising activities
